Palmer Engineering teamed with Smolen Engineering to design the replacement structure for this deteriorated truss bridge over Four Mile Creek in Preble County. Extensive redesign of the approach roadway was necessary to meet current design standards.

This project won a National Recognition Award in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) 2016 Engineering Excellence Awards. Palmer Engineering and KYTC District 12 were recognized by the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) for the Pike County, US 460 project, from US 23 south of Pikeville to KY 195 in Marrowbone, which opened to traffic in December 2014. This $250 million project won in the Over $5 Million Construction Improvement Award category in 2015.

Palmer Engineering is serving as the Lead Design Consultant on the Design-Build Team (DBT) for the on-going project to rebuild Graves Road from KY-20 to KY-237 and construct a new Double Crossover Diamond (DCD) Interchange for I-275. almer is providing roadway, structural, and traffic signal design services for widening Graves Road to a five-lane urban typical section, adding auxilary lanes along I-275, adding a left turn lane on KY-20, and reconstructing the KY-237 roundabout.

Palmer Engineering, assisted by Geotechnology and Redwing Ecological, completed this project, which included the Cross Keys Park Pond Water Quality Retrofit and Picadome Golf Course Stream Restoration, which were both prioritized project within the Wolf Run Watershed Based Plan. The Cross Keys Park Pond Retrofit incorporated several project elements to transform the degraded surface water into a water quality feature.
