    We’re looking for a Senior Financial & Revenue Accountant with a strong background in accounting and project management services to manage revenue recognition processes for our growing business.  The qualified individual brings experience in financial reporting, compliance and knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP including ASC 606), and supporting project profitability analysis.  Reporting to the CFO, this role collaborates closely with project managers, billings teams, and senior leadership to track revenue across multiple ongoing contracts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee revenue recognition for client contracts, applying appropriate methods (e.g., percentage-of-completion, lump sum, cost plus) in compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and industry-specific regulations for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) firms

    • Prepare and review progress billings, invoices, and accounts receivable, including handling retainage, change orders, and contract modifications

    • Perform monthly revenue recognition and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules

    • Analyze project revenue streams, and identify variances between budgeted and actual revenue

    • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries for revenue adjustments, accruals, and cost allocations

    • Collaborate with project managers to review contract terms, track project completion percentages, and ensure proper billing and revenue alignment

    • Support financial reporting by preparing revenue-related schedules, variance analyses, and reports for management and external audits

    • Monitor accounts receivable aging, and resolve billing discrepancies

    • Contribute to process improvements in revenue tracking systems and software tailored to project-based accounting

    • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements related to revenue

    • Entering projects into Vantagepoint system with ongoing attention to contract requirements and compliance

    • Serve as back-up to other members of the Accounting team with other duties as assigned according to business needs

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred

    • 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a professional services, construction, or AEC firm (civil engineering experience a plus)

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint highly desirable or similar systems experience)

    • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel that includes pivot tables, v-lookups, data extraction

    • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to handle complex, multi-project environments

    • Strong communication skills to interface with both financial and non-financial teams (e.g., engineers and project managers)

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines during monthly-end closings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop structural designs and perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand environmental and human-induced stresses (e.g., wind, seismic activity, gravity loads)

    • Assist in managing structural engineering projects from conceptual design through construction, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and specifications

    • Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop and refine design solutions that meet project goals and comply with building codes

    • Conduct on-site inspections to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with design specifications and ensure structural integrity

    • Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports using computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, PSBeam, MDX, or SAP2000)  

    • Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including the Ohio Department of Transportation design and construction standards, AASHTO,   AISC, ACI, and ASTM

    • Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates to determine project viability and recommend appropriate materials and construction methods

    • Address technical challenges during design and construction phases, providing innovative and practical solutions

    What We’re Looking For:

    • B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering with coursework that includes Prestressed Concrete, Structural Steel, Finite Elements, and Structural Mechanics

    • A passion for bridge design, analysis, and inspections

    • Collect and analyze data related to traffic, roadway conditions, and design elements

    • Create plans, drawings, and details using software such as MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads or similar CAD tools

    • Participate in internal design reviews and client meetings to gain exposure to project development process

    • Ensure designs follow applicable standards (AASHTO, MUTCD, DOT standards) and regulatory requirements

    • Work closely with mentors and senior engineers to build technical skills and project knowledge

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or expected within 6 months) from ABET-accredited program

    • Must have passed or working toward passing the FE exam

    • 0-5 years of experience in transportation engineering or a related field (internships, co-ops, or research projects welcome)

    • Must have familiarity with engineering software such as Microstation, InRoads, OpenRoads, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD is preferred
